The biggest problem is that those chinese pots that hold the herbs are probably made in factories that are polluted which means the herbs are tainted. If you are true hippie/holistic believer, you would be growing those herbs in your backyard.

I somewhat agree with grandprix but i think that herbs do have benefits for your body. Maybe not in the same way as "prescribed" by TCM doctors (take this and you're flu will go away.. etc)... but i still think its healthy to take herbs

not necessarily. Just as there are good car manufacturers and lemon makers, there are good reputable herb suppliers and there are third rate dealers. This same goes for the storage. Also, if one knows herbs one knows that each herb has it's ideal place of growth - an herb may grow better in a high altitude area than at sea level, etc. Others need damp dark caves to grow well.

That's the problem with Western medicine, it only ever treats the symptom but never the actual problem/cause.

The problem with herbal remedies is that it is impossible to control for the exact quantities of the components. The chemicals in a mint leaf that are helpful will vary from leaf to leaf making exact dosage impossible.

Modern Medicine distills the herbs down to those active components and allows for precise dosages to be created.
